Honour for services to motorsport

David Richards co-founded Prodrive in 1984
A leading figure in the world of motorsport has been made a CBE in the Queen's New Year list.

David Richards, director of the Brackley-based Prodrive, has been honoured for his services to the sport.

Since the business was co-founded by Mr Richards in 1984, it has won more than 100 international rallies and six world rally championship titles.

Carol Bernard, of Northampton, is also made a CBE for services to the National Probation Service.

  • Acting Major Derek Maurice Andrews, of Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Rutland Army Cadet Force.
  • Glynis Bliss, of Earls Barton, for services to Victim Support Service.
  • Bruce Grantham, of Northampton, for services to education.
