North Yorkshire Police recruit 14 new constables

The new police recruits
The officers will be based across the county

Police in North Yorkshire have appointed 14 new officers.

The new police constables - nine men and five women - join the force after completing an intensive 18 week training course.

Eight of the recruits will be based in York, two in Harrogate, two in Northallerton and one each based in Whitby and Scarborough.

Earlier this year the force, which employs about 1,500 officers, started a recruitment campaign.
