Service to remember road victims

A remembrance service has been held in North Yorkshire for people who have lost their lives on the county's roads.

Family and friends of victims were invited to the service at Ripon Cathedral on Sunday afternoon.

Police said that since October 2008, 43 people had lost their lives in collisions on the county's roads.

Dean of Ripon Cathedral, the Very Reverend Keith Jukes, said the service was also a chance to support police efforts to cut the number of crashes.
