Driver dies after head-on crash

A driver has died and another person is seriously injured in hospital after a head-on crash in North Yorkshire.

A Honda Civic and Volkswagen were travelling in opposite directions on the A6108 near the junction with Marfield House when they collided.

The driver and passenger of the civic were taken to hospital with serious injuries and the driver later died.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash, which happened at about 1800 GMT on Saturday, to contact them.
