Hospital renovation work to begin

A £1m refurbishment project at a community hospital in North Yorkshire is under way.

The roof and windows at Whitby Community Hospital are being replaced. The work is expected to be completed by March 2010.

Hospital officials said services would run as normal during the work.

Elaine Rigden, of Whitby Hospital, said: "Having this work done will improve the hospital environment for the benefit of our patients and staff."
