Claudia police search university

Claudia Lawrence
Police believe Miss Lawrence has come to harm

Police searching for Claudia Lawrence have combed part of the university where she worked as a chef.

Miss Lawrence, 35, from Heworth, York, has not been seen since 18 March.

North Yorkshire Police said part of the University of York was searched this week "as a result of information and material gathered" during the inquiry.

The university said "every possible assistance" was being given to police. It would not confirm reports that the search took place in the biology wing.

In the six months since Miss Lawrence disappeared several other buildings have been searched by police.

They include the home of one of her neighbours and her local pub.

Police are treating Miss Lawrence's disappearance as suspected murder.
