Evacuations in building collapse

Residents have been evacuated from their homes after a building in Harrogate partially collapsed.

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said crews were called to Bower Road at about 0030 BST.

A spokesman said 10 people left their homes after the third floor of a terraced property partially collapsed.

No-one was injured in the incident. The fire service said it was thought the collapse was due to the "general weathering" of the building.

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said the area was cordoned off while the property was made secure by structural engineers.
