Weapons seized in city drug raids

Weapons including a crossbow, an axe and a knuckleduster have been seized by armed police after drugs raids in York.

Officers searched two properties in the Foxwood area of the city on Monday, a North Yorkshire Police spokesman said.

As well as recovering the prohibited weapons, police issued a warning for cannabis possession.

Police said they were working closely with the city council "to remove tenants who affect the quality of the lives of the other residents".
