Police charge man over drugs raid

A man has been charged after a drugs raid in Whitby which ended with five police officers in hospital.

The 26-year-old, from Whitby, is accused of possessing a class A drug and faces four charges of obstructing police during the raid on 18 April.

He is due to appear at Scarborough Magistrates' Court on 15 July.

The officers, four men and a woman, were treated in hospital after falling ill when a substance was released during the raid.
