Concern grows for missing woman

Claudia Lawrence
She was last seen at her work at York University

Fears are mounting for the safety of a York woman who has not been seen since she left work three days ago.

Claudia Lawrence, 35, was last seen by colleagues at York University in Heslington on Wednesday afternoon.

Det Ch Insp Lucy Pope said it was out of character for her to be missing for so long and appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

She is described as 5ft 6in, slim, with brown hair. She was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and trainers.

Det Ch Insp Pope said: "Claudia's family are becoming increasingly distressed at her disappearance and we are anxious to put an end to their anguish."
