Man found dead in harbour named

A man whose body was found off the North Yorkshire coast has been named.

David Kitching's body was found close to Endeavor Wharfe in Whitby Harbour on Monday morning and recovered by the inshore lifeboat.

North Yorkshire Police said the 65-year-old lived on a boat moored in the harbour. Mr Kitching's death is not being treated as suspicious.

Police are investigating how his body came to be in the water. An inquest will open on Wednesday.
