Motorcyclist killed in car crash

A motorcyclist has been killed and two other people have been injured in a crash in North Yorkshire.

A black Kawasaki bike was involved in a collision with a Ford Focus car on the A684 near Aysgarth on Saturday.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 40s from West Yorkshire, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car and a passenger, both from Newcastle, were taken to hospital with serious injuries. Police have urged witnesses to come forward.

The road was closed for five hours after the crash.
