A seven-year-old boy who saved his younger brother from drowning in the family pool has been handed an award for gallantry by the Scout Association.
Jack Dudley was playing with three-year-old Sam at their home in Brayton near Selby when Sam started to drown.
Quick-thinking Jack jumped in and pulled his brother to safety.
His father Peter told the BBC :"It's quite awesome really that they have seen fit to award him with this. We are extremely proud of him."
Jack, who recently graduated from Beaver Scouts to Cubs, said: "My brother is very special to me and I love him so much that I just didn't want to tell my mum so I just decided to dive in and save him.
"I thought 'we have lost him'."
Paula Hyland, from Selby Brayton Cubs, said: "This is a massive achievement.
"Not only has he saved his brother's life but he's now gaining the biggest scouting award that he can get."
