Armed police arrest pair on train

Armed police boarded a train in North Yorkshire after it was reported people with weapons were on board.

Police got on the Hull to Manchester train at Selby at about 1830 BST on Sunday, North Yorkshire Police said.

Two men, a 43-year-old from Hull and a 20-year-old from Liverpool, were arrested on suspicion of threatening passengers with knives.

They remained in police custody in York on Monday. Nobody on board the train was injured during the incident.
