Police scheme to target graffiti

Police in North Yorkshire are closing the net on vandals and graffiti artists by setting up a new database to help identify repeat offenders.

As part if the initiative, know as Taggy, officers will be photographing graffiti for a log to catch offenders who put their marks in a few places.

North Yorkshire Police said the operation would focus on the areas of Haxby and Wigginton in York.

Anyone with information about vandals should contact police.
