Body of driver found next to car

The body of a young driver has been found lying close to his overturned car in a field in North Yorkshire.

Police said the man, believed to be in his 20s and from York, was found dead when officers arrived at the scene of the accident on Sunday morning.

The victim's Renault Megane was found in a field next to the A64 between the Hopgrove roundabout and the Grimston Bar interchange.

Police are asking anyone who saw the car leave the road to contact them.

The westbound carriageway of the A64 was closed until Sunday afternoon as officers investigated at the scene.
