Man in court after siege at house

A man has appeared in court after an armed siege at a house in Scarborough.

The 39-hour siege at a house on Herdborough Road ended on Wednesday after a six-year-old girl was brought out of the property.

Paul Eames, 32, from Doncaster, has been charged with seven offences including false imprisonment and threats to kill.

Scarborough magistrates remanded him in custody to appear at York Crown Court on 22 August.
