Tanker toxic leak was ice cream

Firefighters in North Yorkshire were called to reports of a tanker leaking a "creamy foam" which turned out to be chocolate ice cream.

Four engines were sent to the A1 close to Sinderby and Baldersby where crews expected to find a chemical emergency.

The driver of the vehicle, which was parked in a lay-by, was asleep and crews found about 2,000 litres of ice cream had spilled from the tanker.

Crews blocked off drains and washed away the leakage on Wednesday morning.
