Two arrested over double stabbing

A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with a double stabbing in a North Yorkshire town.

Police received reports of a disturbance between a group of people in Malton on Sunday evening.

Two men aged 22 and 27 suffered stab wounds. The 22-year-old remains in York District Hospital following surgery.

A man aged 19 and a woman, 26, were arrested. The woman has been released on bail and the man remains in custody. Witnesses should contact police.
