Tribute to death crash teenager

Jordan Richards
Jordan was described as "extremely kind"

Family tributes have been paid to a teenage cyclist who was killed in a road accident in North Yorkshire.

Fifteen-year-old Jordan Louis Richards died when his bike was in collision with a lorry on the B6271 in Northallerton last Thursday.

Jordan, from Bromptom, Northallerton, was described by his mum Helen Melia and stepfather Mark Chapman as "one of the kindest people you will ever meet".

The 49-year-old male driver of the HGV has been arrested and released on bail.

In a statement, his mother and stepfather said: "Jordan was an extremely kind and well-mannered young man. He was quiet and shy and didn't like being the centre of attention.

"He was truly in love with his girlfriend Keiley Alderson who he met at school. They were inseparable.

"Jordan looked up to his older brother Liam and they were extremely close.

"He was one of the kindest people you will ever meet - he just loved to make people laugh and be happy."

An inquest into his death has been opened and adjourned.
