New directory for abuse victims

Domestic abuse victim
The directory has details of more than 600 agencies

Victims of domestic violence in North Lincolnshire can access a dedicated online directory to get help and support round the clock.

The local authority is one of the first in the country to provide the service which gives information ranging from home security to childcare support.

It provides details of more than 600 agencies where victims can get help.

Humberside Police said it dealt with 1864 incidents of domestic violence in North Lincolnshire last year.

Councillor Andrea Davison said: "The North Lincolnshire Domestic Violence Directory can be easily accessed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

"This means people can find out what help and support is available to them in relative privacy without the worry of endless phone calls to try and find help.

"The online directory makes information available to victims much quicker, enabling them to get in touch with the right people to help them."
