Men hurt in cherry picker crash

The road is expected to be closed for several hours
Two men have been taken to hospital with serious head injuries after a lorry collided with their cherry picker in the centre of York.

The men fell from the elevated platform when it was hit by a lorry on the A19 Clifton Road on Thursday morning.

The road was closed in both directions and is expected to remain closed for several hours. Diversions are in place.

Police said the Health and Safety Executive had been informed and urged witnesses to come forward.
