Teenager held after police chase
A 15-year-old boy has been arrested after a 35-mile police pursuit through North and West Yorkshire which left two police officers in hospital.

Police saw a black Ford 500 saloon car being driven erratically on the A61 south of Harrogate early on Thursday.

The car sped off towards Leeds with police in pursuit, but the patrol car crashed at Wike Lane near Harewood. Two officers suffered minor injuries.

The chase ended when the Ford crashed on the A1/A58 roundabout at Wetherby.

Leg injuries

Officers from West Yorkshire Police took over the pursuit after the car being driven by their North Yorkshire colleagues crashed.

They followed the suspect into Leeds and then out on the A58 towards Wetherby where the car eventually crashed.

Police said a 15-year-old boy was treated for minor leg injuries at the scene and then taken to Killingbeck police station in Leeds for questioning.

The Ford 500 car is believed to have been stolen in the Harrogate area.
