About 700 homes will be built on the site on the outskirts of York

Plans to build hundreds of homes on the site of an historic battlefield in York have been approved.
A public inquiry examined the plan to build 700 homes near the Germany Beck site, on the city's outskirts, where the Battle of Fulford was held in 1066.
Ruth Kelly, the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, has now decided the scheme can go ahead.
And the Joseph Rowntree Foundation has been given permission to build more than 500 homes in Osbaldwick.
Historical campaigners had said the Germany Beck plans would desecrate the site of the Battle of Fulford.
The Battle of Fulford was fought between the English army, under Ealdormen Edwin and Morca, and the Viking and rebel army led by Harold Hardrada and Tostig, a few weeks before the Battle of Hastings.
The original plans were submitted by Persimmon Homes and referred to the government in September 2005.
