Head-on road crash victims named

Two men killed in a head-on road accident in North Yorkshire have been named by police.

Andrew Edmondson, 35, and William Thomas Crompton, 37, died when their car collided with another and then a van on the A65 near Austwick.

Both men, from Settle, had been travelling in a black BMW car when the accident happened on Tuesday.

The driver and passenger of the van suffered minor injuries. Police have appealed for witnesses to contact them.

The road was closed for several hours.
