Silent tribute for cave death boy
Joseph Lister
Joe went missing as his party made their way out of the cave system
Staff and pupils at a North Yorkshire school are holding a minute's silence on the first anniversary of the death of a schoolboy in a caving accident.

Joe Lister, 14, is believed to have been trapped by rising water at Manchester Hole in Upper Nidderdale, North Yorkshire, on 14 November 2005.

He was on an outdoor course with Tadcaster Grammar School when he died.

Students will wear black ties and jumpers in memory of their friend, described by teachers as a star pupil.

In July, a memorial sculpture engraved with the letters of Joe's name and the year of his death was unveiled in the school grounds.

The central stone of the sculpture is also engraved with a poem written by Joe's school friend Tom Lendill.
