New bid to save Yorkshire Pudding
Roast beef dinner
The traditional complements to a roast beef dinner
Yorkshire Puddings could be given special protected status if an MP's new campaign is successful.

Vale of York MP Anne McIntosh says only manufacturers in the region should be allowed to use the "Yorkshire" title.

She is writing to the EU to demand the same protection as they gave to feta cheese last year when it stopped a Thirsk firm from the using the name.

She says if feta can have "Protected Designation of Origin" status, then it should apply to Yorkshire Puddings too.
