Council probes town's fly plague
An investigation into what has caused a swarm of flies to plague a North Yorkshire town has been launched by a council.

Residents in Pickering claim they have been inundated with flies for the past four weeks, causing problems in homes, schools and shops.

Ryedale District Council said it has been visiting a number of farms in the area as part of its inquires.

People are being advised to keep doors and windows shut.
