Grass cutter accident man named
A council worker who died following an accident involving a grass cutter has been named by police.

Frank Smith, 54, from York, was injured when the sit-on mower he was operating in the city overturned, trapping him underneath. He died at the scene.

Mr Smith was working for the City of York Council when the accident happened on Thursday.

David Finnegan, director of commercial services, said the authority had launched an investigation.

An inquest is expected to open in York next week.
