A North Yorkshire theme park and one of its employees have pleaded not guilty at York Crown Court to safety breaches following the death of a woman.

Gemma Savage, 20, of Wath on Dearne, South Yorkshire, died when carriages on Lightwater Valley's Treetop Twister ride collided in June 2001.

Lightwater Valley and electrician Eric Butters faced Judge Paul Hoffman in York to enter their pleas.

A date for the trial, which is expected to last three weeks, has not been set.
