Lorries could be banned from using a road through part of the Yorkshire Dales after a campaign by residents.
A public consultation is being carried out over plans to stop HGVs from using the road between Grinton and Bellerby Camp, near Leyburn.
Local residents petitioned North Yorkshire County Council to introduce the ban because of the road's blind crests and narrow bridges.
They want the lorries restricted unless they need to access local properties.
Councillor Melva Steckles said the county council wanted to hear from as many people as possible before making a decision.
"Surveys show that about eight HGVs are believed to use the route each day, and we want to know whether that is appropriate given the characteristics of the road and the impact on the residents of Grinton," she said.
