A public inquiry is to be held into plans to upgrade part of the A1(M) to a three-lane motorway in West Yorkshire.
More than 130 objections were made after the Highways Agency said it wanted to develop the stretch of road between Bramham and Wetherby.
Residents said their main concerns were noise and the volume of traffic in local villages.
Proposals also include a local access road for non-motorway traffic. The inquiry will be held early next year.
