Antique silverware stolen in raid

Thieves have stolen silver antiques valued at several thousand pounds in a raid on a shop in North Yorkshire.

The theft took place at the Leyburn Antiques Centre in Harmby Road, Leyburn, shortly after the premises had closed on Saturday evening.

The culprits smashed down a door and display cabinet before escaping with the items of silverware, police said.

North Yorkshire Police want to trace the occupants of a dark green Vauxhall Vectra seen in the area at the time.
