Motorcyclist dies in road crash
A motorcyclist has been killed and several other people injured in a series of crashes on North Yorkshire roads on Monday.

The A170 was closed at Allerston, near Pickering, after a crash involving a motor bike and a lorry at 10.45am

The motorcyclist, a local man, was certified dead at the scene.

Elsewhere, a motorist was airlifted to hospital after a car crashed into a tree off the A64 near Malton. Two more people were slightly injured.

The B1248 at North Grimston, near Norton, was also closed during the afternoon so vehicles could be recovered after an accident. Diversions were put in place around the village.

A road through Whitwell, near Northallerton, was also closed following an accident.
