A van and an articulated lorry loaded with pigs crashed on a busy North Yorkshire road - blocking the route for more than six hours on Wednesday.
The lorry ended up across the central crash barriers on the A168 at Topcliffe just south of Thirsk at 0800 BST.
The road was closed until 1430 BST to allow police to remove the lorry.
The lorry driver and a female passenger in the van escaped with minor injuries. The male van driver is being treated at the James Cook Hospital on Teesside.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "The lorry has been retrieved and the cargo of pigs are safe and sound."
