Motorcyclist, 38, killed in crash

Another motorcyclist has been killed in a collision with a car on a coastal road in North Yorkshire.

Jonathan Stokes, 38, from Scarborough died in hospital after the crash on the A171 Whitby to Scarborough road near Fylingthorpe at 1413 BST on Saturday.

Two women in the Ford Escort had to be cut free and the road was closed for several hours.

On Good Friday, another motorbike rider died in a similar accident on the same stretch of road.
