The body of a woman has been found in a stream by a walker on the Pennine Way in North Yorkshire.
Police were alerted at 1130 BST on Monday by the man walking in the Pen-y-Ghent area near Horton in Ribblesdale.
"No signs of violence were immediately apparent," a North Yorkshire Police spokesman said.
The woman appeared to have been in the stream for some time, he added, and as a result detectives were having trouble identifying her.
She is described as 5ft 4ins tall with dark, shoulder-length hair. Her age is estimated to be between 13 and 40.
A post-mortem examination was expected to take place on Tuesday.
