A geography teacher from North Yorkshire has been put firmly on the map by his pupils - who voted him the Coolest Teacher in a national survey.
Pupils wrote a 100-word entry praising Tim Morris
The poll, conducted by the teenagers' magazine Bliss asked students to nominate teachers in several sections.
And pupils at York's Fulford School voted Tim Morris the Coolest Teacher after he kept in contact with pupils while on a global tour.
Tim, 28, said he was glad to have his work recognised, but a bit embarrassed.
A bit embarrassed
The edition carrying the competition results is due out in June and Mr Morris said he had spent two days in London being photographed for the feature.
"The pupils had to write an entry of 100 words and send in a photo, then the people at the magazine chose me as the winner.
"I'm grateful that my efforts and work have been appreciated by the pupils, but I'm a bit embarrassed about the award as well."
Mr Morris, who has been teaching for five years, took a year out of education last year and went on a world tour.
"I went through India, Nepal, the Far East, Australia and California. I kept in touch with the pupils through e-mails and they could ask me questions about where I was and what the areas were like."
