Bus service axed after shooting
A bus company is withdrawing one of its services after a driver was shot with what is believed to be a pellet gun.

The man suffered a minor eye injury in the incident, which happened on Cornlands Road in the Acomb area of York just before 1900 BST on Wednesday.

Two youths were questioned by officers over allegations of assault before being released on police bail.

Now First, the company that operates the service, says the bus will not run in the area in the evenings.

Commercial director Peter Edwards said: "We will not be operating along Cornlands Road after 1900 BST at least until Monday, specifically because of this incident."
