A North Yorkshire road was closed for six hours after one man died and others were hurt when three vehicles collided in icy conditions.
The police re-opened the A658 at North Rigton, south of Harrogate, several hours after the early morning accident.
The dead man was driving a car which swerved into a bus, injuring his passenger and one person on the bus.
He has been named as Jonathan MacGregor, 32, from Clayton, Bradford.
The collision occurred at a junction which was covered in patches of black ice almost two inches think in parts.
North Yorkshire Police are asking drivers to be aware of the hazardous conditions on the roads.
Sergeant John Lumbard said: "A lot of drivers get into a warm car, the heater goes on, the radio goes on and they treat each day the same - whether its a July morning or a January.
"Unfortunately, they don't take that little bit of extra care that is often required."
