The couple visited Yorkshire last November to see family

Russell Crowe married his long-term girlfriend Danielle Spencer on Monday.

The 32-year-old actress hails from Nether Poppleton, near York, but moved to Australia when she was ten.

The pair wed in a renovated chapel on Crowe's farm near Coff's Harbour, halfway between Sydney and Brisbane, on the star's 39th birthday.

Flying visit

Their 80 guests were said to be mainly family and close friends, with few Hollywood stars.

Oscar winner Crowe had been dating Spencer since meeting her on the set of the film The Crossing in 1990.

They broke up after five years together, after Crow left Australia for Hollywood.

He had a high-profile relationship with his Proof of Life co-star Meg Ryan, but then returned to Spencer.

Shortly after his proposal last November, the couple flew to Rufforth airfield in North Yorkshire and visited Miss Spencer's relatives.

The wedding list is reported to have included Nicole Kidman, Tom Cruise, Jodie Foster, Heath Ledger and Australian cricket star Shane Warne.
