Airport boss leaves 'for personal reasons''

Charter flight volumes have grown at the airport

The managing director of Norwich Airport has left for personal reasons, it has been revealed.

Elliott Summers left the business with immediate effect for personal reasons on Tuesday.

A statement issued by the board of directors said: "Since assuming his role, Mr Summers has delivered significant charter volume growth.

"The board would like to thank him for all he has achieved over the past four and a half years."

During the recruitment of a replacement, Andrew Bell will take on the interim role.

He is the group finance director for airport owners Omniport and a chartered accountant.

He has been a member of Norwich Airport's board of directors since 2008.

He lives locally with his family and will be based at the airport.
