RAF troops return home to Norfolk from tour


Some personnel were looking forward to celebrating a late Christmas

The first servicemen from RAF Marham to be deployed to Afghanistan have returned home from a four month tour.

31 Squadron flew out to the country in October to patrol the skies as part of Operation Herrick.

The servicemen and women, who celebrated Christmas and New Year's Eve away from home returned to their base in Norfolk on Thursday afternoon.

They were greeted by their families and new station commander, Group Capt Peter Rochelle.
