A prison for sex offenders at a former RAF base in Norfolk is being opened on Monday.

HMP Bure, built on the site of the ex-airbase RAF Coltishall, will house 500 Category C sex offenders.

The government revealed four months ago that it would become the UK's third specialist sex offender unit.

The prison will be made up of converted RAF buildings and some new buildings, all surrounded by a 17ft (5.2m) security fence.
