More security at lights switch-on

Huge crowds are expected to see stars like Eoghan Quigg perform

More security has been hired to control crowds for the Christmas lights switch-on at a shopping centre in Norwich.

TV talent show stars Stavros Flatley (Britain's Got Talent) and Eoghan Quigg (The X Factor) have been signed up to turn on the lights at The Mall.

A week ago there were complaints about people getting crushed when the group Diversity performed at a similar event in the Chapelfield Centre in Norwich.

Chapelfield has apologised and may not host celebrity acts in future.

Thousands of people turned out for the event and some parents told BBC Radio Norfolk that their children were "crushed" and "frightened".

The East of England Ambulance service has put on extra staff for the switch on at The Mall.
