New moves in garage deaths case

Derick Tempest and two of his children
Derick Tempest was described as a loving father and family man

Police investigating the deaths of two men in Norfolk and the disappearance of a father-of-three have been talking to motorists and pedestrians.

James Hall, 60, and Andrew Ventham, 49, both of Queens Road, Great Yarmouth, were found dead in a garage in Camden Place on 2 November.

Derick Tempest, of Great Yarmouth, vanished shortly after visiting the men in the days before they were found.

Police have begun talking to motorists and pedestrians around Camden Place.

Officers are continuing to search the garage premises run by Mr Hall in Camden Place.

About 1,000 people have joined a internet group on a Facebook site to help find Mr Tempest.

'Carbon monoxide'

The BBC has been told that post-mortem tests on the two men were inconclusive, but point to carbon monoxide poisoning.

Norfolk Police would only say the deaths are being treated as unexplained but are not believed to be suspicious.

Last week the BBC revealed that the two men may have given Mr Tempest money, but the purpose of this has not been revealed.

Shortly before the two men were found dead, Mr Tempest's partner, Sarah Sherfield, visited the garage asking why they had given him money.

Her sister Donna told the BBC: "Sarah goes down in the morning. She goes to the garage asking, 'why were you giving him money? Why was he here?'

"They said Derick popped his head round. Said he was moving away. We haven't seen Derick since."

Soon afterwards the bodies of the two men were found at the garage.

Anyone with information about Mr Tempest's disappearance is asked to call Norfolk Police.
