CO 'link' in garage deaths probe

Derick Tempest and two of his children
Derick Tempest was described as a loving father and family man

Two men found dead at a garage in Norfolk may have died from carbon monoxide poisoning, tests have shown.

Police said further tests were needed to establish how James Hall, 60, and Andrew Ventham, 49, died.

The pair, both of Queens Road, Great Yarmouth, were found at the Camden Place premises on 2 November.

Their deaths have been linked to the disappearance of Derick Tempest who vanished after visiting the men in the days before they were found.

The BBC has been told that post-mortem tests on the two men were inconclusive, but point to carbon monoxide poisoning.

Moving away

Norfolk Police would only say the deaths are being treated as unexplained but are not believed to be suspicious.

Mr Tempest, who also lives in Great Yarmouth, went missing shortly after visiting Mr Hall's premises in Camden Road on the afternoon of 28 October.

Last week the BBC revealed that the two men may have given Mr Tempest money, but the purpose of this has not been revealed.

Shortly before the two men were found dead Mr Tempest's partner, Sarah Sherfield, visited the garage asking why they had given him money.

Her sister Donna told the BBC: "Sarah goes down in the morning. She goes to the garage asking, 'why were you giving him money? Why was he here?'

"They said Derick popped his head round. Said he was moving away. We haven't seen Derick since."

Soon after the bodies of the two men were found at the garage.

Anyone with information about Mr Tempest's disappearance is asked to call Norfolk Police.
