More dentists to offer NHS care

A number of dental practices in Norfolk are set to offer NHS services from 2010 following increased investment from a primary care trust.

NHS Norfolk said it would be giving an extra £2.8m to dental services next year after receiving a larger budget from the government.

Patients in the areas of Acle, Cromer, King's Lynn, Norwich, Thetford and north Norfolk could benefit, it added.

Bids have been received from dentists interested in providing NHS services.

NHS Norfolk said it would soon identify the most suitable providers and award them contracts to provide "additional dental activity" from April 2010.
