The new memorial is expected to be opened by Rememberance Day 2010

The renovation of a memorial garden in Norwich has been given a start date.

The garden, near the Forum, has lain derelict for more than three years while the city council tried to find the funding.

Now part of an £8m government housing and regeneration grant will be spent on restoring the Memorial Gardens and war memorial.

Work on the War Memorial is expected to start on site on Monday and finish in 2010.
