Reward offered over buzzard death

A reward is being offered for information after a buzzard was discovered dead in the grounds of a stately home in Norfolk.

The protected species was found on the Holkham Hall estate and is believed to have been shot, possibly some distance from where it died, police said.

The estate said it is offering £500 to anyone with information leading to the conviction of those responsible.

Norfolk Police has only just issued the appeal following the find on 7 August.

David Horton-Fawkes, estates director at Holkham said: "We have given our very full cooperation to the police and the RSPB on this matter and will continue to do so."

A police spokesman said anyone convicted of killing a protected species can be fined or imprisoned.
